HSEQ Officer

An opportunity has become available for an experienced HSEQ Officer in our Victorian office.

Reporting to the HR Manager - Workplace Health & Safety, this person will be responsible for the implementation of the HR and WHS system to continuously improve compliance, safety performance and employee relation outcomes.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Providing advice, guidance and support to managers, employees and subcontractors in complying with WHS legislative, contractual and Menzies Management System requirements.
  • Embed the Menzies Management System through effective communication, consultation, training, audits and reporting.
  • Early notification, investigation and reporting of hazards and incidents to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Triage, initial medical management and recovery at work coordination for work related injuries and employee health concerns.
  •  Risk assessments and safe work methods statement development, implementation and evaluation.
  • Development, delivery and evaluation of inductions, training and verification of competency tools.
  • Conduct of internal audits and manage assurance for external management system audits.
  •  Performance reporting, document management and record keeping.


About the candidate: 

  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience in similar roles. 
  •  Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety.
  • Current motor vehicle licence.
  •  Sound working knowledge of the Victorian and South Australian WHS legislation.
  • Sound oral and written communication skills, with ability to produce quality audit and investigation reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce results in an autonomous and unsupervised working environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  •  Demonstrated ability to conduct small groups training.
  • Able and willing to travel intrastate and interstate on a monthly and at other times within reason.

  • RTW Coordinator certificate highly desirable.
  • Cert IV in Training & Assessment highly desirable.
  • Senior First Aid Certificate highly desirable.
  •  Previous experience within the facility management or related services industry is highly desirable. 
  •  Experience in the facility management  or services industry is highly desirable.
