Company Overview:
Menzies International (Australia) Pty Ltd is a leading provider of facility management services, specializing in commercial cleaning, maintenance, and infrastructure support. We are committed to delivering high-quality services across healthcare, education, government, and other sectors. Due to business growth, we are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and monitor banking transactions, accounts payable & receivable, and fixed assets to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly profit and loss journals, including electronic distribution of financial reports (CVP) for management purposes.
- Conduct reconciliations of balance sheet and profit and loss accounts for multiple entities, preparing necessary supporting documentation.
- Manage and lodge GST, BAS, PAYG, and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns for the group, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations.
- Assist in audits, including Workers Compensation, Payroll Tax & GST audits across multiple states, and ensure all financial operations adhere to compliance standards.
- Monitor and update monthly wages and salaries journals, collaborating closely with the payroll team.
- Support cash flow management by preparing fortnightly cash flow projections and advising management on financial planning for operational efficiency.
- Ensure year-end financial transactions and reconciliations are properly processed and documented in preparation for external audits.
- Oversee the management of group tax declarations and assist the payroll manager with PAYG schedules.
- Other ad hoc supports as determined by the finance manager.
- Supervise Administration and Assistant Accountant.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master’s degree or higher is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting, including experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and tax compliance.
- Candidates with at least 2 years of financial work experience in Fortune 500 companies are preferred.
- CPA or CA qualification (or working towards CPA/CA).
- Proficient in accounting systems (e.g., Templa/Dimensions/SAP/BR reporting) and payroll software.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and Australian tax regulations including GST, BAS, and FBT.
- Experience in conducting financial audits and liaising with auditors to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
